String quartets from all over the world are welcome to apply for the competition which focuses especially on advanced student quartets and young professional quartets. With attractive prizes, both cash prizes and festival engagements in 2014, we hope that the competition can act as a springboard to a further career in chamber music. After the academy 2010, the instructors decided that Dali Piano Trio and Fournier
will be directly qualified for the competition, 2011. Other TICA ensembles are welcome to apply.
Trondheim International Chamber Music Academy is this year more international than ever. Among the 24 ensembles applying for the academy in September, there were musicians from 24 countries altogether.
As a part of the TICC springboard model the winners of the Trondheim International Chamber Music Competition 2009, the Quatuor Tercea was awarded with a number of concert and festival engagements.
